Castaway Game Review
Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, give a man a Castaway and you feed him for a lifetime! I’m pretty sure that’s how the saying goes anyways.
Not only is Castaway a super fun game but it helps you master the art of angling. Games that serve a purpose and teach a skill get major points in my book! This game comes with a weighted lure and an inflatable cornhole shaped target. Both pieces have Velcro on them, so when you throw out your line it can stick to the target. The target has 7 boxes to aim for with points associated with different fish. Two thumbs straight up for this design!
As far as materials, everything was good quality. The bait sticks right to the board and you didn’t have to use too much force reeling it back in. I also am confident you won’t have to worry about the inflated target being punctured. My only concern might be the stickiness of the surface if the game was being played in water and got wet.
I need to preface this segment with the fact that I am very ADD and haven’t been able to sit still long enough to fish in a long time. That being said, I sucked at this game. However, if I did play long enough, I GUARANTEE I would improve. The inventor of the game says his 8 year old can nail the board 6-7 times out of ten. So with a little practice I’m confident anyone can hit the board.
Castaway can be played in any setting. We played at the beach and conveniently anchored it down through the loops with some sticks. The game floats too, so I think this would be a blast to bring out on the boat and play on a lake! It could even be a great side game while ice fishing.
Currently this is a prototype, but the game is set for launch by this summer! Word on the street is the new version has some cool new colors and a couple other nice features. Be on the look out for Castaway and get ready to kick some Bass!
